Ruby on Rails is a free web application framework. It aims to increase the speed and ease with which database-driven web sites can be created, and offers skeleton code frameworks (scaffolding) from the outset. Often shortened to Rails, or RoR, Ruby on Rails is an open source project written in the Ruby programming language, and applications using the Rails framework are developed using the Model-View-Controller design paradigm. Technology is constantly changing, evolving and becoming better. New technology is always allowing us to do more, expand our businesses in ways that we never imagined, and become more efficient with our time. Technology infiltrates not just businesses, but our home lives through cellular phones, personal computers, upgraded home theaters, and even wireless networks that allow us to access the Internet from almost anywhere. The negative aspect of this ever-changing technology is that it means there is always something new to learn. There are constantly new phrases and new services that must be learned and understood. For information technology professionals, this is just a part of their job. For the rest of the world, the new and changing information can be confusing and downright overwhelming.
